Apparently, also, in the early days of the Revolutionary War, an exceptional performance by Burr earned him an invitation to meet with Washington as a precursor to be invited to become a part of "the Family" of aides which Hamilton would later join. Neither party ever discussed the meeting, but Burr was sent away.
