Thank you for the link–that's fascinating–especially since it came from Churchill. I would have thought that England would have been absolutely opposed to any continuation of War, and only the US (if anyone) may have considered such a move. Especially with the stories of US commanders like Patton warning troops not to engage with the Soviets when they linked up as he wanted to keep on marching east.
